I used different media to classify and display my grandfather’s photographic archives spanning  early 20th century, WWII, and his life in the DDR and mixed it with materials documenting my father’s escape from the DDR and immigration to the US,  juxtaposing it with my own photographic cartographies. The result was a multigenerational exploration of memory, identity, and place.
